HAAM Benefit Day

The 10th annual HAAM Benefit Day is today and features hundreds of musicians playing all across Austin to help benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.

HAAM Benefit Day began featuring live music at 6 a.m. and it will last until 2 a.m. around the city at locations such as Waterloo Records, Austin City Hall, Whole Foods Market stores and many more. More than 200 businesses and 400 musicians are expected to participate.

The event is presented by Whole Foods Market and people can contribute by shopping, dining and donating during performances of their favorite bands and artists.

On HAAM Benefit Day, participating businesses pledge five percent of the day's proceeds or make cash donations. HAAM hopes to raise $450,000.

Since 2005, HAAM has helped more than 3,500 musicians access more than 78,000 healthcare appointments and provided more than $30 million in services.
