Mother of baby found in dumpster arrested

The mother of the baby found in a dumpster in October has been arrested. Althea Johnson was arrested Tuesday morning and faces charges of abandoning a child, a second degree felony.
Passerby's found the infant in a dumpster on a cold morning at the Mira Vista Apartments near Rundberg and I-35. The infant survived and had been at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
Johnson's other children were taken from her and are living with relatives.
Spokesperson Lisa Block with the Texas Department of Family Protective Services said Tuesday that the baby has been released from the hospital and is with family.
