Multiple shot at Halloween party by suspect dressed as Santa Claus
The Austin Police Department has arrested a suspect for shooting multiple victims at a Halloween party in the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2017 in North Austin.
Four victims are being treated for gunshot wounds.
According to APD, police officers were dispatched shortly after 6 a.m. to the 5500 block of Avenue F for a shooting at a private residence. A white male suspect dressed as Santa Claus had shot a number of victims at that resident.
Police officers were able to apprehend the suspect within the block of the shooting.
Three of the four victims were transported by Austin-Travis County Medical Services to local hospitals with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
APD believes that the victims and the suspect knew each other.
No charges have been filed so far against the suspect, who has not been identified at this time. The Austin Police Department expects charges to be filed after the investigation is complete.
This is a developing story and will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
