Nurse beats ovarian cancer, works to help others do the same

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - National Cancer Survivors Day is a day of celebration for cancer survivors who have fought the disease and won.

Valerie Hensel, a nurse at Baylor, Scott and White, says she celebrates every day she's able to get up and move on her own.

She's spent more than 40 years helping cancer patients and in 2017 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
