One dead in car crash on North Lamar

Austin-Travis County EMS said one man is dead after a car struck a tree on North Lamar. 

Authorities said the incident happened on the 7100 block of North Lamar around 5:15 Friday night. 

The Austin Police Department said the victim, a male in his 30's, was dead at the scene. They have not released the cause of the crash. Two of the three northbound lanes of Lamar were shut down.
