Oregon burglary suspect identified as Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

Police in Oregon responded to a call from a woman who thought someone had broken into her house and was in her bathroom. After deputies broke down the door guns drawn, they quickly realized why the suspect was unresponsive.

After asking several times for the suspect to exit the bathroom, deputies eventually entered the room, and quickly identified the suspect as "an automated robot vacuum.”

Washington County Sheriff’s Office posted about the incident on their Facebook page Tuesday. In the post, they said multiple deputies responded to the house and requested a K-9 unit for assistance.

According to deputies, the woman told dispatch that she could hear noises coming from her bathroom and saw shadows underneath the door, which was locked.

When police forced their way into the bathroom, they found the unsuspecting robotic vacuum cleaning the bathroom.

“As we entered the home we could hear ‘rustling’ in the bathroom,” said Deputy Rogers of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. “We breached the bathroom door and encountered a very thorough vacuuming job being done by a Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaner.”

This story was reported from Los Angeles.
