Pedestrian hit and killed by Capital Metro bus

One pedestrian in dead after being struck by a Capital Metro Bus at the intersection of Howard Lane and Metric Blvd/Thermal Dr.

The first call came in at 8:48.  EMS tells FOX 7 that two pedestrians were crossing north to south on Howard Lane.  The first pedestrian made it, the second was hit.

Austin Police say a woman in her 20's was pronounced dead on the scene.

The bus was northbound on Metric turning east on Howard.

During the investigation of this fatal crash, a motorcyclist driving near the scene crashed into the back of a car.

That cyclist was taken to a Round Rock Hospital with serious injuries.
