Pink gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11) - Singer-songwriter Pink received the 2,656th star Tuesday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony that included speakers Ellen DeGeneres and Kerri Kenney-Silver.

"We are thrilled to honor one of the world’s most popular entertainers P!NK! She is a unique performer who leaves you in a state of joy and surprise at the same time. She mesmerizes the audience with her voice and her action-packed performances,” said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 

Born Alecia Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, the Grammy-winner got her start in the music business as a member of the girl group Choice, who signed with LaFace Records in 1995.

She was later offered a solo recording contract and released her first solo studio album "Can’t Take Me Home" in 2000, featuring wo Billboard Hot 100 top ten songs, "There You Go" and "Most Girls."

Pink has since released seven studio albums, one greatest hits album and has had 15 singles reach the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Pink has won several awards in her career, including three Grammy Awards, one Daytime Emmy Award, three Billboard Music Awards, seven MTV Video Music Awards -- including the 2017 Michael Jackson Vanguard Award recipient.
