Police arrest two men after shots fired

Two men have been arrested after shots were fired near Austin police officers. It happened in North Austin late in the evening on February 18 at the corner of Mearns Meadow and Parkfield.

Officials say a vehicle slowly drove by the officers and as it passed one of the officers heard three gun shots. The car sped off and turned onto Parkfield.

Police were able to stop the suspects at Mountain Quail and Rutland and both were taken into custody.

A gun and shell casings were recovered. Police canvassed the area to make sure the bullets didn't hit anyone or any homes. None of the officers were hurt.

APD says it still investigating as to if the officers were shot at or if the suspects were just shooting in the air.
