Police investigating officer involved shooting in East Austin

An investigation is underway after a deadly officer involved shooting in East Austin. 

The incident happened in the 4800 block of Tanney Street.

Officials say the alleged suspect was a 46-year-old Hispanic man. He called 9-1-1 at around 4:18 a.m. to report that he had killed his father and brother.

Eight officers have been placed on leave. Five of those officers fired their weapons at the suspect.

Officials say no one else hurt.
