Stamp Out Hunger
May 14 is your chance to help out hungry families. Stamp Out Hunger is one of the largest fundraisers of the year to help feed thousands. As summer nears, food assistance is in high demand because many children don't have access to school lunches and families and seniors are faced with higher utility bills.
Postal workers will be collecting bags full of non-perishable items as part of a national one day food drive on May 14. The bags, provided by your mail carrier, should be placed next to your mailbox filled with non perishable food.
You can also drop off your donations at any post office or H-E-B. Get more information about the event here.
Donations will go to the Capital Area Food Bank. Last year more than 150,000 pounds of food were collected. Every week the food bank helps 46,000 Central Texans.
