TCSO: Suspect in Steiner Ranch bank robbery in custody
AUSTIN, Texas - The Travis County Sheriff's Office says a suspect who ran after robbing a bank in Steiner Ranch Thursday afternoon is now in custody.
At 8:20 p.m., TCSO reported through Twitter that the suspect was in custody. No other information was available.
At 5 p.m. TCSO said it had thoroughly searched the area and that search efforts were scaling back as the suspect had not been located at the time.
TCSO tweeted around 4 p.m. that it and several other agencies were looking for the suspect who ran after an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon at the Chase Bank in the Quinlan Crossing shopping center at FM 620 and Quinlan Park Road.
The call came in around 1:15 p.m.
TCSO says nearby schools were notified as a precaution.
According to TCSO PIO Kristen Dark, the suspect fled the scene into some nearby woods. TCSO used their K9 unit and drones to look for the suspect.
