Third man arrested in connection to San Marcos homicide

A third man has been arrested in connection to the killing of a San Marcos man. 23-year-old Adrian Terrell Rose was taken into custody on August 21 in Mississippi.

Rose is now charged with capital murder in connection to the shooting death of 27-year-old Matthew Rodriguez, Jr.  Rose is in the Madison County Jail waiting extradition.

Two other suspects from Hattiesburg, Mississippi are also in custody. Brothers Jacob and Jason Portier are both charged with capital murder.

Rodriguez, Jr. was killed on August 14. Police say they responded to a call regarding an unresponsive person in a parking lot of an apartment complex and when officers arrived they found Rodriguez, Jr. dead from a gunshot wound.

Recently friends and family gathered to help raise money for Rodriguez, Jr's funeral costs. The benefit at a local bar raised more than $5,000 through donations and sales.
