Toll rates on CTRMA corridors to increase in 2020

New rates on 183A Toll, 290 Toll, 71 Toll Lane, and the MoPac Express Lane will take effect Jan. 1, says the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.

The rates will increase by 1.71 percent, or approximately $0.02 – $0.06 more than the current rates at each toll gantry for customers with electronic tags driving two-axle vehicles.

The rate on the 183A Toll will increase by six cents per full-length trip on 183A. The tolling location with the highest rate is the Park Street Mainline Place at $1.57 for tag users and $2.36 for Pay By Mail.

The rate on the 290 Toll will increase by five cents per full-length trip on US 290. The tolling location with the highest rate is the Giles Lane Mainline Plaza at $1.20 for tag users and $1.80 for Pay By Mail.

The rate on the SH 71 Toll will increase by two cents per full-length trip on SH 71.

(CTRMA)

The rate on the MoPac Express Lane will increase by five cents per single segment or ten cents per full-length trip on the MoPac Express Lane. This means an increase from $0.30 to $0.35 per segment, or from $0.60 to $0.70 for the base cost of a full-length trip on the MoPac Express Lane.

The rate increase on the MoPac Express Lane only applies to the minimum rate. Rates on the 45SW and 183 Toll roads will not be increased, as those facilities have been open for less than a full year.

CTRMA accepts any of the following tags on its toll roads: TxTag, EZ-TAG, TollTag, K-TAG, PIKEPASS, and Bancpass.

Pay By Mail customers pay rates 50 percent higher than rates paid by tag holders.

Customers without toll tags can use a prepaid registered account to pay their tolls automatically at the discounted rates rather than waiting to receive a bill in the mail. Customers can opt in online or over the phone and add $25 to their registered account to begin driving CTRMA-operated toll roads hassle-free. Registered account holders receive a 25 percent discount on Pay By Mail toll rates.

Customers without a tag who choose not to opt in for a Prepaid Registered Account can pay their toll bill in person, over the phone, online, or by mail.
