Travis Co. DA office will not charge woman who killed APD officer
The Travis County District Attorney's office is no longer pursuing charges against the woman who made an illegal turn during a funeral procession killing an Austin police officer.
Police say Ana Prado was driving with a suspended license during the September first crash that killed Officer Amir Abdul-Khaliq.
She was issued a ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. The ticket was then placed on hold while the district attorney’s office investigated criminal charges.
While there won't be any charges from the DA's office, the municipal court criminal prosecution division could still file misdemeanor charges. Their investigation continues.
