DONNA, Texas - U.S. Army troops deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border sat down for a Thanksgiving meal at a base near the Donna-Rio Bravo International Bridge in Donna, Texas.
Culinary specialists prepared 34 turkeys along with a full Thanksgiving buffet for the hundreds of troops stationed between Donna and Weslaco, Texas.
Photographs showed service members lined up to fill their plates.
Meanwhile, some soldiers watched turkeys being deep fried and then placed into Army-green containers before being served.
