AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - With the new school year just around the corner, the University of Texas Police Department is making campus safety a priority.
They're rolling out a new phone app that will give students direct access to police. UTPD introduced Live-Safe at freshman orientation today.
The app is easy to use and with a quick tap, students can send videos and photos as situations unfold.
The app is scheduled to launch this fall.
UT students also have other campus resources like student emergency services, Surewalk, and UT ight rides to keep them safe.
