AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Emily Madden with H-E-B Cooking Connection shares a quick and easy recipe.
The recipe is as follows:
1 package pork for carnitas, aprox. 3 lb
1 jar Cookwell & Company Green Chile Stew
1 cup finely diced white onion
1 cup chopped cilantro
3 limes cut into wedges
corn or flour tortillas
Cookwell & Company Hatch Tomatillo Salsa
Place pork and Green Chili Stew into a large slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 4-6.
Once meat is done, remove from slow cooker and shred using 2 forks. Once shredded, add in a little of the cooking liquid to moisten the meat. Add as much or as little as desired.
To assemble tacos, place a few ounces of meat on a warmed tortilla and top with onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salsa.
