Man killed in Northeast Austin shooting: APD

A man is dead after a shooting in Northeast Austin on Thursday, police said.

This is Austin's 17th homicide investigation of the year.

What we know:

Police said on April 2, around 5:42 p.m., officers responded to a shoot/stab hotshot call in the 8200 block of Tuscany Way. The caller said a person they knew attempted to fight them and pull them out of their car. Shots were then fired.

When officers arrived, they found the 39-year-old victim with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a local hospital, but later died from his injuries.

The suspect was taken by officers for questioning. 

Police said this was an isolated incident.
