APD officer won't face charges for death of suspect
An Austin Police Department officer will not face charges for the death of a suspect in 2015. A Travis County grand jury has no billed Officer Martha Cameron after hours of testimony.
In March 2015, officers responded to James Sizer's residence for a shots fired call. When Officer Cameron arrived at the scene she found Sizer in the front yard.
Cameron told Sizer to get on the ground but he didn't follow the direction. Cameron then tased Sizer, causing him to fall and strike his head on the ground.
Sizer was taken to the hospital and treated before taken to jail. He died days later due to complications from the fall.
