Austin City Council members discuss findings of Austin Police Department racism report

Several Austin City Council members held a news conference to voice their reactions to a report that details the findings of an investigation into allegations of racism within the Austin Police Department.

The report was conducted by an outside firm and its findings were released on April 17. The findings can be viewed below or here.

Investigators said they could not confirm the accusations for two reasons. The first was that the people who filed complaints could not provide specifics about the behavior and the second was that the Austin Police Department couldn't provide certain records to investigators.
