Austin man arrested for assault, chugs from liquor bottle before being subdued
AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin man has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, but not before he cursed at officers and chugged from a liquor bottle.
On January 15, police responded to a "Disturbance Urgent" call at 5808 Knoll Pines Pass. The call stated that a man was chasing a family member around the house with a knife and that all parties involved went back into the home.
When police arrived on scene they found two men standing outside of the home, one was later identified as the victim. The victim advised officers that his brother, Eh Dow Soe, had chased him out of the house with a knife after he confronted Soe about yelling at their mother.
Officers then observed Soe open a second-floor window, point his middle-finger at police and yell profanities at them.
Shortly after yelling at police, Soe exited the home with his hands up and what appeared to be a liquor bottle in his right hand.
Police gave Soe commands, but instead of following them Soe began to drink for the liquor bottle. The officers were able to subdue Soe through several less lethal means including a taser.
From the testimony of the victim and his mother, the officers charges Soe with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon - Family Violence.
