Austin police find approximately 93 pounds of meth during traffic stop

The Austin Police Department discovered about 93 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on May 30, 2018. 

According to APD, officers stopped 22-year-old Reymundo Bustamante for speeding on IH-35. During the stop, officers became suspicious the driver may be smuggling drugs. APD K9 Cuatro gave a positive alert on the car and officers discovered the narcotics in the car's gas tank and tires. 

APD says the estimated street value is $1.6 million. 

Bustamante was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
