Austin Police identify 19-year-old victim in 4th homicide of 2025

MANOR, Texas - Austin Police have identified the victim who died in a shooting on Friday afternoon in Manor.
This case is being investigated as Austin's 4th homicide of 2025.

What we know:
On Friday, January 24, 2025, just after 2:30 p.m., Austin Police officers responded to reports of a vehicle crashing into a fence and then into a ditch at 10525 Wildhorse Ranch Trail.
More calls to the police said the vehicle had been shot at.
When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot.
One of the victims was identified as 19-year-old Victor Ekozeme, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victim was taken to the hospital and released the same night.
The Investigation:
The investigation revealed the victims had arrived at the Wildhorse Flats apartment complex in a vehicle when suspects began shooting into their car, hitting both passengers.
After being wounded, Ekozeme attempted to drive away from the scene but lost control of the vehicle due to his injuries.
The suspects drove away from the scene in a separate vehicle.
The victims in this case are believed to have been targeted by the suspects, and it is considered that this incident is isolated.
What we don't know:
The identity and age of the second victim has not been released.
