Austin working to make city more age-friendly

The city is working to make Austin more age-friendly.

Last week, council members adopted the plan which will become a part of Imagine Austin, the city's vision for the future.

That means when it comes to transportation, housing, affordability and other areas, City Council will look at how they affect Austinites who are 50-years or older.

That could mean anything from sidewalk design to how long it takes to cross a street.

AARP Texas will host a public forum on the age-friendly plan tonight.

It starts at 6:30 at the Thompson Conference Center on the UT Campus.
