Body found after Austin firefighters put out tent fire in South Austin
AUSTIN, Texas - A body was found after Austin firefighters put out a fire in south Austin on Sunday afternoon.
What we know:
AFD says that at 12:22 p.m. on Jan. 19, firefighters were called to a fire in the 700-800 block of W. Ben White Boulevard, between S. 1st Street and St. David's South Austin Medical Center.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a tree with a tent on fire. After they put out the fire, firefighters found a deceased person.
What we don't know:
It is currently unknown if the person was already deceased when the fire started or how the person died.
What's next:
Both Austin police and Austin fire are investigating.
