Collision on Highway 290 east of Elgin

An 18-wheeler collides with a passenger car near the 1300 block of Highway 290 east of Elgin in Bastrop County. It happened at around 8 a.m. 

The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn't hurt but the driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to the hospital. That person's condition isn't known at this time.

Officials say the two vehicles collided head on. The 18-wheeler was carrying some kind of liquid cargo and the cargo did not spill.
