Construction worker hit by 18-wheeler

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - A construction worker is seriously hurt after being hit by an 18-wheeler.

Austin police say the man in his 50s was hit on the southbound side of I-35 near 183 just after 4 a.m. 

Medics say the man was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Police say the driver of the 18-wheeler stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. It's not clear if the driver will face any charges.
