Pedestrian killed in Del Valle crash identified, Texas DPS says
DEL VALLE, Texas - With the help of tips from the public, the Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman killed in a crash on New Year's Day in Del Valle.

What we know:
Police identified the pedestrian killed in a New Year's Day crash just south of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport as 20-year-old Wendi Suzet Gonzalez-Leon.
Texas DPS says it received a number of tips from the public shortly after releasing photos of Gonzalez-Leon.
The victim's next of kin has been notified.
The backstory:
At around 8:20 p.m., a 2005 Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound in the 10800 block of McAngus Road between SH 130 and FM 973.
DPS says that after cresting a small hill, the vehicle hit a woman who was in the roadway and the driver was unable to take evasive action.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The woman was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
