A woman claims she was bitten by bedbugs during a stay at Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim and suffered physical and emotional damage, according to a lawsuit filed this week.

According to the complaint filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Ivy Eldridge said she stayed at the resort for two days in April 2018 with her family and was "annihilated by bedbugs."

The lawsuit alleges that the hotel was previously made aware of its bedbug infestation and failed to act.

Eldridge claims she was bitten throughout her body and endured severe pain and suffering as a result of bedbug exposure from the infested room, according to the suit.

Photos provided by her lawyer show what look like bite marks on her back, neck and ears.

Eldridge hired specialized law firm My Bedbug Lawyer, Inc. to file the suit on her behalf. The firm specializes in representing victims of bedbug exposure from apartment buildings, hotels or furniture stores.

The lawsuit names Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Disneyland Hotel, seeking seeking punitive damages for Eldridge's physical and mental suffering.

In response, Disneyland Resort spokesperson Liz Jaeger issued the following statement to FOX 11:

"We welcome millions of guests at our hotels and these occurrences are extremely rare. We take extensive preventative measures so that our guests are comfortable and safe during their hotel stays, and when needed, take aggressive steps to rectify."
