Elderly patient says she was assaulted at an Austin nursing home
A 90-year-old woman says she was assaulted by a staff member at Gracy Woods One Nursing home in Austin.
According to the Austin Police Department, Willie Mae Holub made an outcry to her physical therapist who then notified the nursing home. Staff at Gracy Woods One Nursing then contacted police.
Holub told officers that a "new girl" had turned her onto her stomach and hit her back several times. Holub said she thinks the employee was angry that she wet the bed.
Gracy Woods One Nursing home identified the Certified Nurse's Assistant that was taking care of Holub on the night of the incident as 44-year-old Carly Vondra.
Vondra has been charged with injury to disabled individual, a second degree felony. Her bond has been set at $20,000.
