Final day of Austin Reggae Festival canceled due to weather

The weekend rain caused the final day of the Austin Reggae Festival to be canceled. It's actually the second year in a row that the event was forced to be canceled due to severe weather.

Many people traveled from all over the country to attend the festival. The first two days went as planned but organizers decided not to go on with the event on April 17 because of the threat of lightning.

Not only did the cancelation disappoint festival goers but it was also bad news for the Capital Area Food Bank because the event is a big fundraiser for the organization.

The festival was hoping to raise enough money to provide more than 400,000 meals to those in need in our area.

Leaders of the Food Bank say there is still more opportunity to help those in need. They say they help provide 26 million meals to the community each year.
