Houston area getting slammed with severe weather
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Severe storms brought in lots of rain, high gusts of wind, and hail across the Houston area.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all of southeast Texas until 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11.

Heavy rain is pouring throughout southeast Texas and many areas are flooding. Some bayous and creeks have already gone over their banks, and others are already full.
Police and fire departments have been performing several rescues, as vehicles are trapped or submerged on flooded roadways.

Hail, some the size of tennis balls, have already been reported from Katy to Spring Branch, Clear Lake and other areas.
The Red Cross has set up several shelters due to the severe storms and flooding.

A ground stop has been announced at George Bush Intercontinental until 1:00 a.m. on Friday due to the severe storms.
In anticipation of this weather event, several schools have been closed Friday.

On Tuesday, storms brought major flooding to the Houston area, devastating Fort Bend County and areas to the north of Houston, including Kingwood and New Caney.
