Hutto Police arrest sex offender for failure to comply

The Hutto Police Department has arrested a sex offender who failed to comply with the Sex Offender Registration Requirements. 

Robert Joel Alston was arrested on Thursday, November 7 by the Hutto police. After the arrest, a search warrant was executed at Alston's home and seized approximately 35 electronic devices, according to police. 

An investigation lead by police revealed that Alston failed to comply with Texas requirements in more than 90 incidents. In 2005, Alston was convicted of Indecency with a Child in Tarrant County, Texas. Due to the offense, Alston is required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. 

Alston was booked and charged at the Williamson County Jail before he was released to the custody of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.
