Killeen Police: One dead in high-speed crash

One man is dead after a crash on Tuesday night in Killeen. 

At approximately 10:46 p.m. on April 21, officers from the Killeen Police Department were dispatched to IH-14 eastbound near Old FM 440 in reference to a 911 call about a major crash.

When police arrived on scene they found a gold-colored sedan flipped over and fully engulfed in flames. 

According to a police investigation, the sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Old FM 440 and went through a stop a sign on the Central Texas Expressway. The sedan went airborne while continuing to travel across the highway, striking the center concrete median of IH-14. 

According to police, 29-year-old Ezekiel DeSean Connor was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:40 p.m. He was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash. 

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to work the crash and more information is expected to be released.
