Lime pulls all scooters from Lubbock streets ahead of Monday night's NCAA championship game

Lime is removing all of its scooters from Lubbock streets ahead of Monday night’s NCAA men’s basketball national championship game.
Some Red Raider fans caused thousands of dollars-worth of damage on Saturday night after Texas Tech defeated Michigan State to advance to the school’s first-ever title game.
Footage shot by people in the streets celebrating showed a crowd flipping over a car and setting some of the Lime electric scooters on fire.
"While we too are excited and proud of Texas Tech's victory and tournament run, we also share the city of Lubbock's concerns for public safety,” a Lime spokesman said in a statement to FOX4. “In anticipation of tonight's big game, we have pulled our fleet from the streets before it commences, and will re-deploy scooters after activities subside early Tuesday morning.”
Police said on Monday they have collected pictures and videos of Saturday night’s incidents and people will be charged.
City officials said they are being proactive to avoid any problems on Monday night – win or lose. Several streets will be closed to traffic near the campus.
“We encourage people to celebrate. We want people to have a good time. Just do it responsibly and lawfully” said Lubbock PD Chief Greg Stevens.
Texas Tech plays Virginia at 8 p.m. Monday night for the national championship.
