Local Salvation Army volunteer group heads to Victoria, Texas

Salvation Army disaster teams from all around Texas are making their way to areas around the state affected by Hurricane Harvey. One Salvation Army volunteer team from Williamson County headed to Victoria, Texas on Sunday morning. 

The Wilco crew arrived in Victoria around noon with a mobile kitchen, a mobile catering unit and a mule all in tow to aid Victoria. Salvation Army says they served 600 meals to first responders and survivors. 

The volunteer group will also deliver food to hard to reach areas. They are ready to serve up to 1,900 meals every day.

There are 34 mobile kitchens in the Texas Division. Ten other units from the Oklahoma Arkansas Division along with an Incident Management Team have also been deployed. Two mobile bunk houses and two shower units were sent to Texas from the Florida Division as well.
