MINDEN, La. - A police officer in Louisiana suspected of sexually abusing animals and filming the suspected acts now faces charges involving child pornography.
Terry Yetman, 38, was arrested Friday on suspicion of 31 counts of pornography involving juveniles, according to the Shreveport Times.
Yetman is an officer with the Bossier City Police Department who surrendered to authorities in December 2018 over suspected sexual acts with animals. According to Louisiana State Police, the arrest stemmed from an August 2018 investigation that resulted in electronic evidence.
During the investigation, authorities said devices owned by Yetman were found containing pornography involving sexual acts with animals.
Yetman faces 20 counts of sexual abuse of animals by performing sexual acts with an animal as well as 20 counts of sexual abuse of animals by filming those acts.
An animal advocacy group created a petition that had more than 20,000 signatures supporting prosecution of Yetman over the animal abuse charges. According to KTBS-TV, the petition states that Yetman sexually abused his K-9.
