Man injured in construction accident

AUSTIN, Texas - A man is in critical condition after a construction accident in West Austin.

The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the 8700 block of FM 2244.

Austin-Travis County EMS says that something fell on the man from an elevated platform which was about 29 feet above the man.

Rescuers had a hard time getting to the victim and had to use a forklift and rope lift system to get him to safety.

The man was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and his current condition is not known at this time.
