Police searching for suspect following home invasion near Texas State University

The San Marcos Police Department is searching for a suspect following a home invasion and possible sexual assault near the campus of Texas State University.

According to police, it happened on Thursday, May 2 at The Retreat apartments in the 500 block of Craddock Avenue. The Retreat offers two to five bedroom cottages to students near the Texas State University in San Marcos. He is described as a black male in his twenties. 

The suspect could potentially have a handgun in possession. 

According to Steven Sarabia, officers with the San Marcos are walking around with guns drawn in ⁦the City of San Marcos, near The Reteat apartments. Crest Drive is completely blocked off as of now. 



Last week, a woman who was sexually assaulted in San Marcos believes the suspect was waiting and hiding in her bedroom before he threatened her with a handgun and assaulted her.

So far, police have not confirmed if it is the same suspect in both cases.
