Rescuers recover body of missing swimmer from Lake Travis near Lago Vista
LAKE TRAVIS, Texas - Rescuers recovered the body of a man in his 20s from Lake Travis on Sunday morning, nearly 18 hours after he was reported missing while swimming, authorities said.

What we know:
Emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded at 5:47 p.m. Saturday to a 911 call reporting a swimmer in distress near Lago Vista, according to Travis County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kristen Dark. Initial rescue efforts were unsuccessful, prompting officials to transition the operation to a recovery mission.
Deputies with the sheriff's office Lake Patrol searched into Saturday evening before pausing operations. The search resumed at 6 a.m. Sunday.
Rescue crews recovered the man's body around 11:30 a.m. Sunday from a depth of 17 feet in an area of the lake across from Pace Bend Park.
What we don't know:
Authorities have not released the victim's identity pending notification of next of kin.
