Road reopens after Leander grass fires

LEANDER, Texas - RM 2243 has reopened after Leander firefighters put out some small grass fires.

Leander police closed the westbound lanes of RM 2243 between US 183 and the 183A Toll Road just before 10:30 a.m. Monday after the fires broke out.

As of noon, the road was open.

Officials say no structures were threatened and no evacuations were necessary.
