Sahara Ave house fire

The Austin Fire Department responded to a house fire on Sahara Avenue Thursday morning. 

The single family home was heavily damaged by the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. 

One resident was home and in the shower at the time of the fire. A smoke alarm went off allowing her to get out of the home in time. 

One dog was pulled from the home by firefighters. Resuscitation efforts were made but the dog passed away of smoke inhalation. 

Two adults have been displaced from this home and are now staying with friends.
