SWAT standoff in North Austin

Austin Police say a SWAT standoff ended after the suspect killed himself. It all started around 12:45 a.m. when police say a maintenance worker at the complex on Anderson Mill Road called 911 about someone shooting a gun from a balcony into the parking lot.

The first officers on the scene tried to talk to the man but he didn't want to speak with them. Officers evacuated several neighbors in the complex. The SWAT team tried to make contact with the man but he didn't come out of his apartment.

Officers say he killed himself.

His name has not been released.
