Tornado Watch for most of Central Texas canceled
The Tornado Watch that most of the Central Texas area was under has been canceled. It had been set to expire until 1 PM. The following counties were included in the watch: Caldwell, Bastrop, Williamson, Hays, Fayette, Burnet, Llano, Lee, Travis, Blanco, Lampasas, Milam and Bell.
Zack Shields says that a brand new cluster is expected to form later today to our west. More severe storms are possible tonight and tomorrow morning. Main threats are large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
The National Weather Service says flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed. There may be damage to roofs, windows and vehicles. Tree damage is likely.
NWS urges those under the Tornado Warning to take cover. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors in a mobile home or a vehicle move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
Motorists should not take shelter under highway overpasses. If you cannot safely drive away from a tornado, as a last resort, either park your vehicle and stay put or abandon your vehicle and lie down in a low lying area and protect yourself.
