UT student robbed at West Campus Liquor Store

The University of Texas at Austin Police Department says a UT student was robbed at the West Campus Liquor Store Wednesday afternoon.

According to UTPD, the Austin Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a UT student that occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the 700 block of W 22nd Street.

University police responded to the West Campus Liquor Store to assist APD and UTPD says APD located and arrested the suspect.

According to Austin police, the student was uncooperative and refused to provide a statement. The student told officers the suspect was armed, but no gun was located on the suspect or in the vehicle.

APD says there are no suspects in the case and the subject was released from the scene. APD says an involved party admitted it was over drugs and no injuries were reported.

UTPD says there is no ongoing threat to the community.
