Will Central Texans vote for Donald Trump?

Donald Trump is the GOP presumptive nominee, a candidate with no real political experience.

"I think the Republican primary voters have spoken loud and clear, they don't like politics as usual. They were looking for a non-politician and Donald Trump fits the bill," says Bill Fairbrother, Williamson County Republican Party.

In preparation for November, Trump will be building up staff and vetting potential running mates, which includes Ben Carson.
His biggest challenge will be uniting a fractured Republican party.

"We're going to love each other, we're going to cherish each other, we're going to take care of each other," says Donald Trump, GOP presumptive nominee.

So, is that enough?
We asked voters in Downtown Austin.

"I don't trust Trump to run the country. He's a blowhard business man. Not the kind of person I want for president. He's expressed very few details on what his policies would be," says Janice Daemmrich, Austinite.

"Honestly I would rather elect a dog than anybody who's running right now," says Ryan Droge, Austinite.

When we went to the outskirts of town, it was a different story.

"Trump for sure. It's the lesser of two evils for me," says Bob Brawley, Round Rock resident.

"That's what we really need in Washington. Someone who knows what he knows, knows what he doesn't know, can bring the right people together and hopefully get some things going for our country again," says Fairbrother.

Texas Values was one organization that was strongly behind Ted Cruz.
They say although he is out of the race, he has left a significant mark on this historical campaign.

"I do think that a lot of people were choosing Ted Cruz over Donald Trump because of issues related to faith-based principals, religious freedom, pro-life and things of that nature. We'll see what Donald Trump has to offer and say now that he's going to get more of the spotlight," says Jonathan Saenz, Texas Values.

Although Trump financed his campaign in the past, he plans to start fundraising for the general election soon.
A Trump versus Clinton match-up now seems inevitable.
Although, right now he is trailing by double-digits in a new nationwide poll.
