Join Urban Roots for 2018 MLK Day of Service

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and on that day, many decide to honor Doctor King with a day of service. You can participate in your own day of service here in Austin at Urban Roots.

These special community volunteer shifts will be led by Urban Roots youth leaders and have an added emphasis on Dr. King’s work and legacy of service, justice, and love. Side by side with Urban Roots young people and other community volunteers, we’ll be planting out the season’s onions (more than 10,000) which are an important crop in our donations to Hunger Relief Partners.

Space is limited, so RSVP is required. To learn more, click here.

“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
