10 displaced in North Austin apartment fire
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Ten people have been displaced after an apartment fire in north Austin Saturday afternoon.
Austin fire crews responded to the structure fire at the Creeks Edge Apartments in the 1100 block of Rutland Drive just after 4 p.m.
The damage to the attic and exterior of the apartment was caused by improperly discarded cigarettes, says AFD. AFD estimates the damage at $33,000.
AFD, apartment management and the Red Cross are assisting the ten displaced residents.
