A domestic disturbance leads to a SWAT standoff

Police received a check welfare call just before 2:00 am about a woman being assaulted by her husband.

The suspect, who was armed, refused to leave the house.

They entered the home via robot, but found out the suspect left.

“We were able to successfully get the wife and two children out of the household, in addition other adults out of the house once we had the wife secured without the husband knowing. There was mention of him being asleep holding a handgun on the living room,” said Ofc. Bino Cadenas, Austin Police Department.

The suspect is still on the loose. Police say he is a Hispanic man in his 20’s.
